project
field house

Sited in the middle of a field of alfalfa overlooking a tidal river, the form of this home is derived from its local New England agricultural context, its solar orientation and a dramatic view. Exterior materials add to the feeling that the building has always been there, and include recycled cypress barn board in a rain screen assembly, reclaimed municipal granite, cast in place concrete, and corrugated steel. Interior finishes include raw steel, stone, radiant concrete floors, and cabinets fabricated of laser-cut plywood with aluminum mechanic's tool chests.
